Kedah Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KICCI) members participated in the Engagement Session on the Draft Statistics Bill 202X (Sesi Libat Urus Penggubalan RUU Statistik 202X) organized by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) Perak for the Northern Zone, held at Hotel Kinta Riverfront, Ipoh, on 14 October 2025 (Tuesday). The session was officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin, Chief Statistician of Malaysia.
This engagement aims to enhance understanding and awareness among stakeholders on the importance of data, DOSM’s evolving roles, and the impact of the upcoming Statistics Bill on the National Statistical System. It also serves to gather feedback and support for the review of the Statistics Act 1965 [Act 415] and the finalization of the Statistics Bill 2025 in line with current needs.
